River boat tour

A tranquil boat trip along the Pangani River. Immerse yourself in the silence of the riverscape, which is lined with mangroves, jungle and old coconut plantations. A wonderful experience for the whole family, a very special experience for bird lovers, as the Pangani River is a habitat for a variety of water-loving bird species. As the second part of this tour, you will visit a quaint village in the hinterland and watch the locals and their mastery in climbing even the tallest old coconut palms to harvest the best coconuts.

Dinner at Francesco
in Bahari Pori

You walk along the picturesque beaches from JUANI PANGANI towards the north, stopping for a swim every now and then - there are a number of inviting places along the different beach landscapes to rest, enjoy, swim and indulge! After just over an hour's walk you reach the realm of Francesco the Italian, the Bahari Pori Resort. There is a brilliant restaurant there with super-fine food a la carte, including very good seafood specialties. You return full and satisfied with the Boda Boda (that's what the moped taxis are called) - and after 10 minutes you are back home in JUANI PANGANI.

Maziwe Island2_edited.jpg

Maziwe island

The coral island of Maziwe Island is a coral island, a marine conservation area that you can reach quickly by boat directly from JUANI PANGANI beach in 40 minutes by motorboat. A sandbank on the surface, the island is surrounded by beautiful, magnificent, intact coral ecosystems. You dive into an underwater world like you've never seen before, especially never so close up. Just below the water's surface is a world full of bright colors and shapes, you come across schools of exotic fish that frolic between the corals, starfish, and with a bit of luck you can even see sea turtles live. If you look closely you'll also discover the giant clams between the corals, although they're so big it's easy to overlook them because they're so well camouflaged: the Tridacna Gigas, inappropriately also called the killer clam, is the largest species of clam in the world and lives in large numbers between the corals on Maziwe Island. You will be amazed at how incredibly beautiful these creatures look in their natural environment! Equipment: Bringing diving goggles and a snorkel is recommended, diving fins are not necessary as the coral reefs extend directly from the beach. Organization: Mr. Hothot (Tel. +255 768 256 304) will be happy to organize registration with the authorities (marine national park fee) and the entire excursion, price approx. €50 per person, total duration approx. 5 hours.

Saadani4_edited.jpg
Saadani nationalpark

Saadani National Park is the only safari park in Tanzania that is located directly on the sea - and thus offers beach, nature and wildlife experiences all at the same time. Saadani is a 2-hour drive from Amani Sawa. This even makes a day trip to Saadani possible.

Usambara.jpg

Usumbara Mountains

The Usumbara Mountains are described by connoisseurs as the secret, little-discovered jewel of Tanzania. An incredibly beautiful landscape, waterfalls, untouched nature, breathtaking views and the highest biodiversity invite you to go for walks or hikes. Lushoto, a possible starting point for your Usumbara excursion, is about 4 hours' drive from Amani Sawa. Benny, our on-site team member, will be happy to organize the trip for you.

If you wish, Baraka can also organize an expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro for you.

A special recommendation:

A visit to the Hadzabe people, a tribe of the last free-living people on our planet.

A very impressive and inspiring experience!
