the history

Founding phase

In the winter of 2020/21, a group of diverse individuals from Austria and Germany came together with the vision of buying, developing, and revitalizing a "place" in Tanzania.

A promising offer is found in Pangani-Mkoma-Bay/Tanzania.

It is a building plot of approximately 2.5 hectares on a 10-hectare peninsula directly by the sea with several relatively intact buildings, farmland, orchard, wilderness – and fantastic kilometers of deserted beaches.

the vision

Juani Pangani's vision is to develop and maintain an eco-social resort with self-sufficient agriculture for guests from all over the world. The project aims to be a meeting place for people of different cultures and a meeting place with the diverse natural world.

construction

The exploration and acquisition process lasts until autumn 2021. This process is characterized by the transfer of the existing company "Juani Pangani Solar Resort Ltd.", which is owned by a German-Swedish couple and owns the land, to the members of the founding group.

The Tanzanian family, Benny, Eva and their kids, who already live on the property and who helped shape the project with the previous owners, are integrated into the new structure of the project.

transformation

In February 2023, a significant incident occurred on the property – the large Makuti guesthouse fell victim to the flames.

Currently, as of 2026, a new guesthouse is being built on the foundations of the burned-down Makuti house.

The new guesthouse is being built in a way that is as close to nature as possible and very creative; unprocessed tree trunks form the supporting main framework, and the interior will be finished with clay walls.

The house offers space for 13 bedrooms, a dance floor on the ground floor, a large balcony on the first floor, a communal kitchen and shared sanitary facilities.

The new guesthouse is scheduled for completion and commissioning in 2027.
